Summary
Spencer Reid goes to jail for a crime he didn't commit, or at least that's what everyone, him included choses to believe.
While the team works tirelessly trying to prove his innocence and his mind pesters him with the thoughts of all he's missing at home, his wife, Olivia Reid, desperately tries to mantain the household together, with a toddler constantly asking where her dad is, a mountain of legal fees and mortgage to pay and the constant reminder that her law enforcement job is on the line because of her husband's condition, she has to seek how to survive getting the best news in the worst possible moment.

Spencer discovers that he is the father of Cat Adam’s baby. He decides to care for the baby instead of putting it up for adoption, because he knows what it’s like to have an absent parent. Even though the circumstances are awful, he loves being father and is the most gentle and caring dad. He will do anything in his power to make his daughter feel love and belonging. He’s a little over protective, but very caring. He has every parenting book memorized. His daughter, Penelope “Nellie” Diana Reid is his world.

“Now, who’s this?” Hotch asks, his face melting into something Spencer knows is born of being a father. It’s tender and warm and mirrors everything Spencer feels on the daily, but never knows how to express. Maybe it’s as simple as the look he can’t keep off his face.
Charlotte’s giggle keeps him smiling, with the added joke of, “I don’t know what you mean.”
“Well, I hate to break this to you, but I think you have a koala on your back.”
He feigns confusion: “A koala on my back—oh my goodness there’s a koala on my back!” He hoists her further up, tipping his head back to meet her eyes. “Hello miss, have you seen a koala around here?”
Charlotte fully laughs this time, her eyes squinting into the crow's feet he loves to see. “That’s me!”
Spencer Reid is twenty-five, and Charlotte Reid is six. This is how they come to be.
