Summary
If this record is a confession, let it be a complete one: the human-thinking-machine Rocky was gifted has everything on it. With the aid of the device Rocky had made back aboard the Mary that translates light on Grace’s human-visual displays to texture on Rocky’s Eridian-sonar display, accessing all of humanity’s combined wisdom is as easy as making a database query.
Rocky consumes approximately 1,600 Earth-hours of human pornography before the ship’s engines cease to function, leaving it dead and stranded in space. Again.

Undeniably, Adrian’s life will change irreversibly once again just for having sat in this ship, having chatted with an alien being from another solar system; he would be a fool if he didn’t understand that before stepping aboard.
What Adrian did not foresee: whatever strange, powerful allure this human has established over his mate is fully transmissible.

Summary
"Rocky did not understand human names and titles when we met. Eridian names longer, give information on Eridian's home, associations, skills." For the first time in ages, he positioned two of his arms together, forming the design that Grace thought of like a family crest, a single design bisected.
"You should teach me to read those before we get to Erid, so I can be polite." As Grace considered the linework, already picking up on some vague ideas from the shapes in Rocky's carapace, something else occurred to him. "So… I picked 'Rocky' because your outer shell looks like stone."
"And for inspirational story of athlete who defeats human system of poverty to become great champion. Eye of the tiger."
"Retroactively, yeah." Grace bent at the hips, getting to Rocky's 'eye' level. "So what'd you name me?"

Summary
My pride stings a little at being so underestimated by a species that couldn’t even outrun a particularly determined turtle if their life depended on it. Look, I’m no Sha’Carri Richardson, but I’m pretty proud of my seven-minute mile. I worked hard for it. I haven’t been able to handle myself like this since I was... well, since I left Earth.
“Y’know what? Let’s settle this once and for all. I could use an endurance test anyway. Good for my cardio.”
Dr. Bones perks up. “You’ll do a demonstration?”
“Absolutely. Give me two rest days and a warmup, then I’ll show you what the average human athlete can do.”
-----
AKA, Grace doesn't consider himself much of an athlete, but he's no slouch either. And he's got the physical prowess of his whole species to represent!
The xenobiology team, on the other hand, is horrified to learn what a 'persistence hunter' is.

Summary
"Many stages in Eridian reproductive process. Rocky Adrian laying cycles finally sync up recently. So, Rocky Adrian think finally time for eggs. Adrian lay five eggs, very good. Only, strange thing happen. Rocky only lay one egg."
“Oh,” I say. “That’s unusual, right?”
"Very," Rocky hums.
My throat tightens. "Does that mean there's something wrong? Are you sick?"
Rocky makes a gesture I usually interpret as "not exactly". "Not sick," he says. "But doctors still worry. When Eridian start to make fewer eggs, this usually means laying period of life is over soon. Rocky very young for this. Rocky supposed to be in ideal time of life for laying. Rocky younger than Adrian, even." He shifts on three of his feet. Already, my mind is racing ahead, wondering -- "Doctors told Rocky to ask Grace, is this radiation side effect, question?"
