“I know I hurt you.” Suguru’s fingers moved instinctively into Satoru’s hair, smoothing through white strands that still felt impossibly soft after all these years. “I know this is cruel. These meetings. Whatever it is we keep doing to each other.” His mouth pulled sideways, bitter. “I know I should stop opening the door every time you come back.”
But you keep coming back.
Or, Suguru, who wants Satoru to be free of him almost as badly as he wants to keep him.

“Am I dirty?” he asked before he could think better of it.
Suguru looked him up and down with a curious expression, squinting, searching for something that could explain whatever the hell was going on. “Huh? No… you look fine to me.”
That’s not what I meant. Am I filthy, or am I pure?
“Are—are you sure?” It came out weak, brittle. He lightly unclasped the hand from Suguru’s jacket which he was still holding, leaving it just hovering over the fabric. He was scared he’d burn Suguru again, but he was more scared about being unclean. “What about my hands?”
Without reservation, Suguru gently took Satoru’s hand from the jacket and then lifted the other, still pressed to Satoru’s chest, into his own small palms. He turned his hands till his palms faced God, and Lord, did they burn, but before he could pull back, Suguru held them firmly, thumbs brushing over the lines and grooves of his palms, steady, careful, unflinching.
“All clean, ‘Toru. I promise. See?”
Satoru did not believe him.
Or, Satoru wrestles with God, the Bible, and the slow, undeniable realization that he is in love with his best friend, Suguru.

Summary
Starting over, you've discovered, is mostly a matter of place; put enough miles between yourself and everything that came before, find a roommate you like, make friends with people who know nothing about you, and eventually the person you used to be begins to feel like some distant cousin.
Shiganshina is good for that. Eren Jaeger is not.
He's your roommate's friend, then yours, then something considerably more inconvenient. He's infuriating in ways that become intimate, intimate in ways that become problematic, and somewhere along the line, disliking him becomes difficult to separate from want.
The trouble with becoming close to someone is that you never notice it happening. There's no moment when the water reaches your throat. No warning that you've wandered too far from shore.
By then, you're already submerged.

The sliver of the tan skin on his back when he reaches to put something on a high shelf. The look of concentration when he’s trying to Jenga everything into their freezer.
Oh, damn. He wants to be fucked.
In which a very pregnant Gojo goes grocery shopping with his husband, only to get home and realize what he was really craving.

“We’re friends,” Satoru’s saying, nodding again, a little like he’s trying to reassure himself. Confirm it, and Suguru nods to agree. Hums, but that’s hidden beneath the sound of Satoru’s voice again. “We’re friends and friends, like — like, help friends out, so. It’s not like, super fucking crazy, right? Asking.”
Right. Suguru nods once, firm.
Then says out loud, “Right.”
And there’s a pause between them, only ‘cause Satoru stops breathing.
