There's a specific description of dumb made just for him, for a student with a head so empty and grades so perfect. A description made for people who waste their life away, letting potential slip down the drain and disappear down bath showers in motels they can't afford. He is the kind of dumb that lands you in a place of no money and has you sleeping out the back of someone elses car, a million miles from any semblance of a place you used to call a home.
And maybe a million might be a stretch, but it really fucking feels that way some nights.

The hot silence that followed the slurred, drunken confession was only broken by a breath, the clink of a ring against glass, and the shift of fabric. Ina did not reply for a long time, only reaching for their bottle and tipping it back again, and shamelessly with his greedy, half lidded eyes, Jeffy watches the way her neck moves as she swallows, bared to him so vulnerably. He doesn't do anything but stare and stare until she's wiping her mouth and breathing hard as she hands it back.
She does not ask though, despite how much he wants to tell her about it.

17 years after his cousin was born, Jeffy finds himself in a tight black dress all too small for him at her funeral. It's cold and raining outside, fitting for the coming fall that's pressing in on him like water leaking in. He is an incoming senior, and she was supposed to be an incoming junior. Her casket is closed because her face is too fucked up for her mom to want to see it, and there's dozens of people sobbing around him. Yet, he hasn't cried since freshman year of high school, and at this point, he doesn't even think his eyes know how. He can choke and cough and hyperventilate, break down into ugly, tearless sobs, but not cry—never cry.
Or; Jeffy in the event of misplaced grief and better-off-declined phone calls.

The cold will strangle your skin and pierce through to your bones. The winter will make herself known to you in every way she can, and it will hurt like a motherfucker. In all likelihood, this is where you die. Your body will crumble and freeze over and you will be preserved by the cold. It’s very sad for you, and rather startling for anyone who might come upon your body come spring.

Seawatt sinks his teeth in.
Evbo's blood oozes out of the pinprick wound, spilling onto his waiting tongue. With it, comes the telltale scent of copper in the air; it always marks the beginnings of a feast. And yet, Seawatt is no gluttonous fool—he wasn't born a noob, after all; he was never quite familiar with the feeling of hunger tearing his stomach apart from the inside out. However, he falters at the taste.
He hadn't quite expected divine blood to be so delectable.
Or: Seawatt comes back from the dead as a vampire. Naturally, Evbo offers him his blood.
