Summary
Rumi and Jinu have been rivals since the moment they stepped into Hanseong Academy’s halls. She’s the relentless overachiever with perfect notes and flawless essays; he’s the effortlessly brilliant top scorer who acts like he barely tries. Every test and every teacher’s praise turns into another reason to outdo the other.
To everyone else, they’re oil and water — snide comments, eye-rolls, and the occasional heated argument in the middle of class. But when a late-night study session in the library escalates into something unexpected, Rumi and Jinu strike a deal:
Keep their rivalry public, but privately, they’ll allow themselves the relief and release neither can admit they want. What begins as a strictly “no strings” arrangement — a distraction becomes harder to ignore when little moments slip through. The way Jinu remembers how she takes her coffee. The way Rumi secretly saves a seat for him at the back of the lecture hall. The way their “accidental” brushes of hands feel less and less accidental.
With their reputations on the line, they both have to ask themselves: are they still rivals pretending to be nothing more, or has the game shifted into something neither of them knows how to control?
