“What?”
“Tell me to leave. Right now. Say ‘Jeongguk, get the fuck out of my hotel room.’ And I will. I’ll walk out that door and we’ll go back to trying to kill each other tomorrow.”
Jimin’s lips part. Nothing comes out.
“Yeah,” Jeongguk murmurs. “That’s what I thought.”

Summary

A murmur rippled through the crowd, tension coiling in the air like a serpent ready to strike.
He took a step forward and Jeongguk watched him grab the little boy's chin with more force than necessary. His gloved fingers bored into his skin, unfazed by the tears that streamed down his cheeks.
"It burns," the blonde prince said, a cruel sneer playing around his plush lips. His grip never wavered, not even when the boy started squirming and wailing beneath his hand. "Because it must."
What looked like morning was the beginning of night, and what seemed like a young boy was the bridge between the past and the present, life and death, now and never.
