Summary
Scanning around, flashlight as eyes, he looks for a sign or arrow which will lead him to his destination. He’s unable to locate any form of direction before a crackling sound plays over the sub’s intercom, startling him as it comes to life.
He only has a moment to sit with his fear before a pleasant, if staticky, voice rings through the narrow tunnels and empty rooms of the Ark.
“Welcome aboard. I’ve been waiting for my newest shipmate, and here you are: right on time.”Or; Ren is conscripted to do a week of maintenance aboard an autonomous submarine guided by an AI. He's the first to board in a year, all prior workers claiming no issue, and the company itself says the deep sea exploratory vessel is completely safe. Yet the sly smile of the AI onboard and the ominous metallic creaking which echoes throughout the ship do little to dispel Ren's worries. Forced to abide his fears, the AI given the name of Goro becomes his only companion aboard the gloomy, claustrophobic treasure of the Shido Corporation.

Goro Akechi's pristine reputation was crumbling. The image he had spent years building was about to be destroyed because of his own carelessness and his hatred for a certain underground band.
Ren Amamiya, leader of said band and soon to be boyfriend, sat in front of him with a smug look on his face.
Akechi contemplated whether it was socially acceptable to strangle his 'boyfriend'.

What is it about that face that is almost making his own facade crumble? Goro looks away to reply, building up the barrier again. "You want me to forgive you? For what? I'd need to know the truth of what happened, first."
Ren closes the gap between them to lean in close. Goro pulls away just enough to catch Ren's eyes as he speaks in ciphers. "Isn't finding the truth something you're good at, detective?"
Goro Akechi works for the Shadow Operatives investigating a series of strange and increasingly unsubtle changes in reality. Through his work he learns of Ren Amamiya, a man he no longer remembers. Something about him is suspicious and Goro just can't keep himself away.
