Summary
I died in a hurricane and woke up in my own past — same memories, same guilt, no Dark Passenger left to explain it. I watched Rita die because of who I was, and never stopped carrying it. Now there's a father to save from himself, a sister who doesn't know what's coming, and a life I don't know how to live without the thing that made me someone.

Summary
"I'll be right behind you, Astor," Dexter says, trying desperately to look calmer than he feels. He can't stop thinking about the spray paint in Lila's studio—little canisters of propane and butane littered around, slowly heating. How long does he have before they start exploding? He has to get Astor and Cody away from here. He has to get them back to Rita. "Just run, I swear I'll—I'll be right there—"
***
Dexter doesn't walk away from the fire at Lila's apartment. It changes things.

Summary
With a town as great as this, it’s easy to lose yourself in the fog of Miami’s night life. Everyone’s shed their inhibitions, slipping off the skin of polite society and letting their darker side slither out to play. Sweating out those angrier bits of life. All on the hunt to chase down their own hedonistic pleasure and feed it, satiate it, until there’s nothing left of it.
And of course, Rita is no exception. Except Rita was on the hunt for something darker to satiate her cravings. Something less carnal, but still just as primal. Something no amount of drugs, sex, and alcohol could hide the emptiness of.
