Mabel stepped out of the portal, squinting her eyes to protect it from the glare of this dimension.
The sky was bright, but she'll have to make do. Slinging her bag over her shoulder, she estimated how long the hike to the nearest market would take.10 miles? 20? She groaned, she should've gotten some sort of map when she had the chance.
In another dimension, Dipper traced the edges of his sisters sweater, the ends frayed from the constant radiation from the portal. Every attempt in re-opening the portal has been a failure, each run worse than the last. He sighed dejectedly, throwing the journal onto his desk before leaning back in his chair.
One day, it'll work.
