The world grew dark around her as Six watched silently from her hideout; crimson to orange, pink to purple, then in finale, an inky, all-encompassing black. The moon came out to replace its sibling, and it was then that a certain heaviness settled into Six’s chest. She finally stood ready to go, her knapsack in one hand and a package of Fancy Lad Snack Cakes gripped in the other. She shouldered her pack and stood there for a long moment, soaking in the feeling as the moon dusted her in calming light. She couldn’t put a name to it, this feeling, and it frustrated her. With a sigh, she ripped open the noisy cellophane package of snack cakes with her teeth and tossed the wrapper aside.
As she tramped across withered lakes and cut a fairly neat line to her destination from slightly outside Novac, she began to wrack her brain. She’d been walking for a long while when she reached a small rock formation. Impulsively she decided to climb it instead of going around.
It hit her only just as she crested the top of the formation and stood, with what felt like all the world stretched out before her:
She was terribly lonely.

Summary

Summary
Sakura is dispatched hundreds of miles away from home on a mission to help Anko thwart a once-in-a-generation powerful shinobi from potentially going rogue. The catch: she has to live at a traditional bathhouse and pretend to charm the patrons who frequent it to keep up appearances while Anko tries to earn their target's trust. With Sound in the market for more strong ninja to recruit into their ranks as suitable vessels for Orochimaru, this is an opportunity Konoha can't pass up--and Sakura can't pass up the chance for a possible inroad to Sasuke.
