“Deliverer--”
“Kneel.”
It slips out without Phainon thinking. It doesn't matter; they're both dominant anyways. It feels safisfying to get it out. His voice comes out strong and distorted, with a strange otherworldly echo. The air vibrates around them. The sandy earth goes rigid.
Mydei collapses to his knees.

“Phainon,” Mydei says, suddenly more than a little alarmed. The rush of heat through his body is nowhere near normal—he’s been to Kremnos a dozen times since it fell, and the heat has never once been like this. “When did this start?”
Phainon sighs out a gentle breath. “I know when it ends,” he murmurs, so close to Mydei’s ear that Mydei shivers. “Won’t you let me end it? For both of us?”
Phainon and Mydei investigate the remains of Kremnos. The heat starts getting to them.

Before anyone can speak, Cipher eagerly chirps, “Mydei fucked your new assistant.”
“When?” Hyacine raises her eyebrows, whipping her head to look at Mydei.
He opens his mouth, rubbing his forehead, “In the chair.”
“The chair that… the chair,” she ominously trails off, “He’s never done that before…” Her voice is almost ghoulish with how audibly horrified she seems at the mere concept, and Mydei cringes.
“And he won’t ever again, considering he’s texting Mydei right now,” Cipher doesn’t miss a beat as Mydei’s phone buzzes again, “Hyacine, you might as well change your career path to become a matchmaker.”
OR: Phainon is the new hire at Mydei's dentistry and they fuck in the chair (an excessive amount).

Summary
The mystery comes to its conclusion before the Verax Leo in Marmoreal Market. Phainon is not, unlike some of his colleagues, in the habit of damaging the city’s statuary. But if striking with Dawnmaker will satisfy his curiosity, he is willing to risk Aglaea’s displeasure.
“My lord,” Verax Leo finally grumbles. “It concerns Kremnoan royalty.”
Phainon’s expression sharpens. “...Has something happened to Mydeimos?”
“No, Lord Phainon. Nothing like that,” The lion hesitates. “It’s... the princess.”Phainon comes to learn that Okhema is obsessed with a drag queen named "Princess of Castrum Kremnos," an extravagantly dressed performer who spends her weekends reducing audiences to laughter with a parody of the real Crown Prince. The crowd thinks it is the ultimate comedy act, happily joking that the princess and prince have never been seen in the same room.
There is no such parody. Okhema thinks it sees a brilliant satire. Phainon thinks a mysterious performer has stolen the privilege of making fun of his rival. And Mydei is just trying to make sure no one notices that the prince and the princess share the exact same biceps.
