Summary
Grace's head lolls when Rocky pulls him from the seat. There's a sudden sizzle, and Rocky can't figure out what it is until he realizes he's grabbed Grace's bare arm, and the sizzle is his delicate skin burning under the heat of Rocky's claw. He lets out a wordless yelp and lets go, grabbing for the sturdier shoulder of Grace's flight suit. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he gasps, even though he knows Grace can't hear him.
Or: Rocky's point of view of the excessive centrifugal force mishap.

The human body is weird, Rocky knew that. What he didn't know was that getting a human body to be healthy again is a lengthy, uncomfortable process. Things can look worse before they get better. When a human starves for so long, many odd things happen when they finally receive sustenance again.
Increased sleeping is one of them.

"Like… another life that you live where crazy stuff happens, but… it all makes sense?"
This is the most confounding explanation it's offered yet. Perhaps I've kept it teetering on the precipice of sleep for a bit too long. Expecting Grace to be able explain this any better as its cognitive function continues to steadily decline is a futile effort on my part.
Before I can even respond, I hear the muscles in its face pull upwards in the shape of a small smile. "Kind of like today," it adds in a softer tone.
And just like that, I understand perfectly.
Grace tells Rocky about dreaming. It makes some things better, and leaves most things unchanged.

“No chain involved.” Rocky waved two jazz hands out from beneath the console, for Grace’s visual benefit. “Does Grace like this name better?"
“Sure I do!” Grace pursed his lips and practiced again. “♬Ren. ♬Ren.”
“Question, however. What is compound word ‘unknown name’?”
“Nickname?” Grace waited for an affirmative chirp. “A casual name, something shorter and easier than your full name, or something representative. Or whatever your friends call you when you try to skateboard down a fire escape at the freshman bar and get a Facebook page named after you."
