"I know," Lando said, reaching up to cup Oscar's jaw, his thumb tracing the sharp line of his cheekbone, feeling the tension coiled beneath the skin. "I just wanted to make you feel good. Take your mind off everything. We have the whole summer break—we could just let go. No limits, no rules. Just us."
Oscar's eyes narrowed, calculating, searching Lando's face for something. "What exactly are you suggesting?"

Summary
There were several things that Lando knew for a fact. He knew that he loved playing volleyball, that he was a talented player and that he was going places – he would get into university with a scholarship in volleyball, even if he had to fight tooth and nail for it. These were all true, indisputable facts in Lando’s mind.
He also knew that he and Oscar Piastri were unspoken rivals, and that he hated the younger player with every fibre of his being.
