Summary
He'd been so happy then, full of it, he'd hardly thought of what had been taken from him at all.
But brothers killing brothers was in Aerion’s blood, and its prophecy lingered restless in his veins. He welcomed it like a promise.

Summary
“The Prince needs a sworn sword?” Dunk blinked at the two brothers, certain he must have misheard.
“A sworn shield,” Baelor corrected. The distinction seemed to matter.
“The title will be spoken publicly as a reward. A reconciliation. The prince you fought against now honours your valour and accepts that the Gods judged you to be innocent. A tale of chivalry restored, of a dragon gracious in defeat. Songs will smooth the rest.”
“And in truth?” Dunk asked before he could stop himself.
Maekar did not look away. “In truth, you will ensure my son does not forget what that day has cost.”
“You would have me... watch him.”
“I would have you guard him,” Baelor replied at once. “My nephew needs protection; from blades, from poison—"
“—and from himself.” Prince Maekar’s voice followed harder.
Baelor survives his injuries at Ashford and takes charge of the fallout. Determined to cure Aerion’s deepening psychosis, he brings his nephew to King’s Landing to guide him and help him master his darker impulses. Until then, the unstable prince will need guarding, from others as well as himself. Baelor chooses an unlikely protector: The Hedge Knight.

Summary
A cold, clipped voice from the hallway: "If you drop the clutch like that again, Wat, I’ll make you push the car back to Bethnal Green."
Dunk looked over his shoulder. First, a ginger kid crawled out of the hallway.
And behind him...
Pale hair, cut short. Packed tight into a leather jacket and washed denim. Dunk’s gaze dipped to the bright yellow creps.
The Bride, straight out of Kill Bill.
Or: London 2010. F1 driver Aerion gets exiled to a shit-tier community centre run by his nan to teach locals how to drive. Dunk, an Olympic Stadium scaffolder and pub-rugby hustler, goes straight to the same spot to finally sort his driving licence for the car old man Arlan left him.

«No touching; no biting; no licking—or he would have his tongue cut out; no scenting him. Dunk was never to come inside him, or Aerion would have his cock sliced off, nothing about knotting, and above all, no kissing.»
After the accident at the Ashford tournament and Aerion’s return from exile in Essos, Dunk finds himself trapped in a stifling nightly routine at Summerhall. For a hedge knight, honor is everything; yet the consequences of yielding one night months ago haunt him like a noose around his neck.
Dunk has no choice but to surrender his body to the capricious, cruel demands of an omega prince who loathes his own nature just as much as he desires Dunk.Or: Dunk tries to survive the demands of the self-centered prince while burying his own instincts deep within.

Exile, Aerion thought wildly, would be well worth a whipping from a man like that. Exile would be well worth anything Dunk wished to do to him. -

Summary
The day before his older brother dies, Aerion arrives at breakfast to see Daeron still passed out at the table, unmoved from the night prior. He takes his abandoned, half-finished cup of wine and pours it over Daeron’s greasy head, and he sputters awake.
Through the wine dripping from his rancid mouth, the cretin says, “The hedge knight would have loved you if you hadn’t broken that girl’s fingers,” and it takes Aerion a moment to realize who Daeron speaks of. “He always loves you. It’s really quite spectacular you’ve managed to dissuade him.”

“I just don’t understand why you would go through all this trouble just so I could see that you have changed,” Dunk asked, bewildered.
Aerion looked… forlorn. There was a distance in his lavender eyes, as though they were veiled by an invisible fog. He blinked it away and met Duncan’s gaze, a soft smile replacing his brief melancholy.
“Do you truly not know, Ser?”
~
Nine years after Ashford, Prince Aerion Brightflame devises a careful plan to make Ser Duncan the Tall devote himself to him completely: gifts, proximity, patience, and eventually seduction. What begins as obsession slowly mutates into something far more dangerous. Because the more Aerion tries to win Duncan through manipulation, the more he changes into the sort of man Duncan could genuinely start to develop feelings for.
Unfortunately for him, Ser Duncan is far too oblivious to notice any of this until it is far too late.

Aerion presented as an omega late. So late, in fact, that he had already been raised as a boy and a prince, unaware of the duties that would befall him.
Not long after, Duncan was recognized as a Stark out of unfortunate circumstance.

Summary
In the aftermath of Baelor's death, the Targaryen family splinters. All Maekar wants is to hold the remnants of his family close, but even he knows that Aerion cannot stay here, not with Baelor's ghost still wandering the halls.
Dunk has had enough of princes for a lifetime, but Baelor's memory will not let him turn away from the wreckage before him. When Maekar begs him to take Aegon on as his squire, he accepts, and when Maekar begs him to look after Aerion, Dunk cannot turn him away. He is determined to fulfill his duty as Baelor's man, and to do it well, Aerion be damned.
Aerion's life crumbles down around his shoulders in the span of a single afternoon. The Maesters say his leg may never fully heal, his own father cannot look him in the eye, and his family wishes he had died in his uncle's stead. When he finds himself exiled to Lys with only the brother who hates him and the knight who maimed him for company, he is certain he's being sent off to die.
Fortunately, the gods have other plans.

"You'll marry him in a month, under Targaryen custom. There'll be a bonding ceremony.”
The room tilts sideways, and Aerion grips the back of his chair.
"Do you realize what you're saying?! Duncan Tall? The Beast? A complete nobody who fights in underground rings… and, by the way, one of the very men you refused to let anyone punish, even after he kept training your youngest son behind your back and lied through his teeth about sticking to legitimate boxing, which—"
"I know perfectly well who he is!" Maekar slams his fist on the table. "They call him Ser now, and that title was earned in blood! This decision is final. I never wanted to force you into any marriage given the circumstances, but you'll marry Ser because the heir must be protected, and this family needs—"
"Given the circumstances? How convenient. You mean my famous Targaryen cunt, the one that could always be sold to the highest bidder? Those circumstances? There simply aren't any more cunts like it, Father! Targaryen Omega males aren't born anymore, haven't you heard? For the chance to rape a rare Omega cuntboy and fill my Targaryen cunt every fucking night, even the Blackfyres might call off the war—"

Summary
“I’m with child,” Aerion said cooly. “So no, my dear Daeron, I am not getting fat. I am merely eating for two.”
“Child?” The dumb creature he had let into his bed asked blankly, “where?”
Duncan’s armor creaked as he bent and peered under the heavy table. Daeron sucked in a sharp breath.
“What madman was stupid enough to stick their cock in you?”
A booming thunk as the table rattled on its legs. Duncan let out a muffled curse and crawled back out. Color had drained from his face. Aerion ignored his quiet panicked attempts to catch his gaze and selected another grape from the offerings, red this time.
Aegon jumped up onto his chair, bald little head cocked to the side. “Are you— truly?”
“Oh, Father is going to kill you,” Daeron observed as he snatched a goblet and filled it with light summer wine. “After he flays the skin from the man that seeded you.”
(Or the countdown for Dunk's impending demise by Maekar's mace.)

Summary
Ten years after being exiled to Essos, Aerion Targaryen is summoned back to Westeros by King Baelor. Unfortunately for everyone involved, he returns older, sharper, politically useful, and accompanied by a mysterious companion from across the Narrow Sea.
Egg is back at court. Dunk is given the thankless task of keeping an eye on Aerion. The Red Keep receives his return with all the warmth and grace of a kicked hornet’s nest.
Dunk remembers Aerion as beautiful, cruel, and deeply alarming. What he gets instead is a prince who speaks in foreign tongues, makes himself useful in deeply irritating ways, and may or may not have actually changed, which is frankly worse.
Major rewrite to the opening chapters. If you read this a while ago, it’s worth giving it another look!

Summary
Aerion recalls the words his uncle had spoken to him then — remembers, too, the way he had said them again years later, those knowing mismatched eyes fixed on him as Aerion donned his armour before stepping onto that field at Ashford.
“Your fire, it is not yours alone. When you breathe, you make dragons of us all, nephew.”
He thinks of them again now, where the frontier of mud and earth encroaches, ever threatening to drag him down and bind his body within its dark, fevered tomb. Though why the words rise from his memory in this moment, he cannot say.
Aerion gets caught attempting to Mulan it up.

Summary
"That you’re an omega now doesn't change a thing, my prince," Dunk said coldly. "You’re still a foul and wretched man. It might not be fair what they've done to you, but you sure deserve even worse."
Aerion wished to rip out that insolent tongue of his and throw it in the campfire. He could cross the Dornish Marches on his own — he was a dragon and needed no fucking hedge knight to keep him safe. He could kill him right there and be done with him. Dunk would fight back, that much was certain, yet even years of proper training in combat could not subdue the instincts that drove him to provide and protect.
Humiliated by a Lysene temple, Aerion is forced to rely on an old foe to reclaim his honour. But the Black Dragon’s threat looms over the Seven Kingdoms, and neither his sweetened scent nor the court’s new expectations will keep him from putting the Blackfyre bastards to the sword.

Summary
Dunk, an omega too large and too strong to ever be suspected of being one, was riding for Ashford when he felt his heat coming on. He drank a serum to delay it, enough to last to the end of the tourney — had he not crossed paths with a young unmated alpha who smelled of tar, smoke, and blood: Aerion Targaryen.
During the Trial of Seven, Dunk fought through pain and fever; but when he found himself one-on-one with Aerion, he knew the prince had caught his scent. It distracted the young dragon long enough for Dunk to land the blow that made him yield. The victory tasted bitter and dishonest, though, and there was no way for Dunk to explain himself without bringing worse trouble on his own head. He needs to leave.
And just as he means to, the wind brings him the smell of tar, smoke, and blood.
