Dad just looks at Sam. He hates it when Sam talks back, but he doesn’t look angry now. He looks tired and kind of sad. “Okay. Well. Do it quick.”
“You can’t just save someone quick, Dad. It doesn’t work like that.”
“Well how long’s it gonna take? Five minutes?” Dad looks through the open car window at Pop, who nods. “We can do five minutes.”
Riley sits up. “You want me to be dead for five minutes?”

Sam is about to start first grade, and moving from the DC Suburbs to New York City seems like the end of the world. But that's okay, because he and T'Challa decided his dads are the two best people to have on your team in case of a zombie apocalypse.

Summary
Roy can hear his mother frown over the phone and he drops his head onto his desk with a thunk. “I could’ve sworn you were dating someone new,” she says. “Who’s that girl you’re always talking about…Jamie, right?”
At that, Roy snaps back up to attention, his heart thundering up against his chest. “Jamie’s a man, Mum.”
“Oh! Well, alright,” Mum says slowly, her voice carefully thoughtful. And Roy knows, he knows deep down to his bones, that he’s an idiot to hope that will be the end of it. There’s a long enough pause that the feeling begins to swell in his chest, when, “Well, I think that’s wonderful, Roy. I can’t wait to meet your boyfriend at the wedding.”

The ethics are doing Roy’s head in. It feels like one of the stupid philosophy dilemmas Beard trots out, which he appears to think are an appropriate substitute for small talk on a pub night. Add this to the list - trolley puzzles and Roy’s weird sex problems:
1. Is it okay if your boyfriend gets off to the thought of you doing something that he thinks you wouldn’t think is hot but actually you do think it’s hot but he doesn’t know that so he’s all fucked up over it?
2. Furthermore, is it okay if you tell him you think it’s hot too, even if you know it’s going to make his dumb little idiot brain explode for some reason?
