“Do you ever…take Marcus to birthday parties?” Comes out quickly, somehow loud in the quiet room. Subtle.
Rio’s voice is softer and when he speaks it sounds like he might have been falling asleep when she asked, “You mean like drop him off or spend time with other dads drinkin’ and commentin’ on mindless sports games.”

The sound of Mike’s voice, the desperate, sickening whimper, was enough for Harvey’s mouth to snap shut with an audible clack. He would know Mike in a dark room by his breaths alone, he was sure; he’d heard his name uttered from those lips in all manners of emotion, had imagined his name whispered from those lips more times than he cared to admit. But this certainly wasn’t that, and in no scenario, imagined or otherwise, had Mike’s voice sounded so broken. He detested the way his name was slurred over Mike’s tongue, the ‘e’ elongated and sounding like it took much more energy than it ever should have to force out the syllable.

During the season 2/3 Mike and Harvey divorce era, Mike gets himself roofied in a bar, and all Harvey has is the sound of his voice on the other end of a phone call he nearly didn't pick up as he races towards him.
