Summary
The Ranger has been on open waters for nearly a month. They’ve spent weeks off the coast of Nassau, taking merchant ships bound for the port day in and day out, and Izzy is fucking exhausted. The constant raids mean constant fighting, and their stores are depleted down to just hardtack and bone broth rations to keep the men going. They’ve looted plenty of weapons and coffee and even some hard-to-come-by medicines, but Hornigold is on a mission to end the month at sea with a ship full of nothing but high-priced goods that will fetch a pretty penny at trade – leaving no room for rice or meat or oranges. The crew are tired and hungry, to the point where even the promise of a big payout in less than a week means very little.
And the word hurricane rings in the silence.
The crew of the Ranger is tested, and so are Ed and Izzy.

Summary
It's a short leave, just the three days, and the first two, he hardly saw Ed at all, on opposite rotations for port watch duty, one of them always on the ship. For the first time in weeks, he had the chance to spend time with Ed, out from under the watchful eyes of the crew (on a ship where one could scarcely find the solitude for a peaceful shit), and here is Jack Fucking Rackham screwing it all up.
The budding romance between Edward and Izzy grows.

Summary
Izzy watches the gears begin to turn behind Hanson’s stupid, stupid eyes, consternation replacing the terror that had begun to build there.
“Now, I certainly didn’t see Teach fuck up today, did you, Hanson?”
Slowly, he begins to shake his head, breathing deeply through the pain in his leg.
Izzy feigns thoughtfulness, “No, no, Teach wasn’t anywhere near the hostages, as I recall. Can’t possibly have had any role in your unfortunate mishap, right, mate?” Hanson grinds his teeth. Izzy drops the act and puts the dagger back to his face, just tickling his left eyelashes. “Answer me.”
Ed fucks up during a raid. It's the first of many of his messes that Izzy cleans up.

Summary
Edward turns to look at him. “I’m going to be a captain one day.”
The utter confidence in his voice is unsurprising to Israel, who holds his gaze out over the horizon just barely beginning to lighten, imperceptible to anyone who hasn’t been observing its unchanging, inky blackness for hours on end.
“I’m going to be a captain, and you could come with me.”
Two days after the tryst in the storage room, Edward asks for more sparring practice. Also, Izzy gets his nickname.

Summary
“I’m not like those men,” Izzy says, voice cracked and hoarse. “I won’t fucking be like them, do you understand me?”
Ed’s face softens. “Of course you aren’t,” he says, tone coaxing. “You’re Izzy.” He reaches out, one hand. Izzy doesn’t move away. He can’t. Ed’s fingers touch his face, grazing his jaw, and he shivers. “My Izzy,” Ed says. The conviction in his voice sets Izzy’s cock to throbbing. “My friend, yeah?”
“Of course I’m your friend, Ed,” Izzy says, That’s why I can’t—”
“But you want to,” Ed cuts him off. He smiles, slow, devastating. “Don’t you.”

Summary
Aziraphale wanted Crowley to be safe, and happy, and to feel loved. Sometimes, to feel safe and happy and loved, Crowley needed Aziraphale to hold him down. To take him roughly. To leave marks upon his body for him to flaunt in public, and bollocks to what the neighbors might think.
He never seemed particularly interested in examining the why of this.

Summary
Aziraphale Z. Fell is a rising star of the spiritual literary genre - the next Eat Pray Love guy - and his version of Chicken Soup For the Christian Soul is flying off the shelves. It's not that he's not grateful, but it's one thing to enjoy a career in writing and another completely to be pigeonholed into a specific genre, so much so that you are almost forbidden from writing anything else.
So yes, maybe he has a bit of a secret. An outlet for his less... appropriate urges. And yes, if his typical readership got word of the sort of paragraphs he could put out on a particularly inspired night, they might suffer some form of heart attack typical for their age.
But all of that is well hidden, and there is absolutely no way anyone would ever find out about his Arrangement with A.J. Crowley - the most debaucherous romantic fiction author of the decade.
That is... until they have to pretend to be married to each other.- Language:
