Summary
Lestat knows how much it hurt him, keeping all those secrets from him. Not sharing things until he was backed into a corner. Whatever the reason he struggled to really open up to him about certain things, he knew. He knew how much Louis craved to know more about him. He knew Louis would win that auction. He might not have put much thought, if any, into whether or not Louis would come and find him, but a part of him had to have known because he didn't choose just anywhere to bury himself alive.
He chose the middle of the Black Rock desert in Nevada.

“What happened?” Lestat murmurs. “What did they do to you?”
Louis stands up at that, still holding Lestat’s hand.
The screaming outside fades. Lestat can’t even hear the knocking on the windows anymore.
No, because then Louis is closing the curtains behind them and settling into his lap, one knee on either side of his hips. Because then Lestat has one palm spread against the small of Louis’ back, Louis cupping his face with loving hands, and their foreheads touch.
Lestat forgets what he’d asked.
Quiet.
“I’ll tell you later,” Louis murmurs. “Let me just have this, for now.”

Or: after the events of 3x07, Louis and Lestat deal with the aftermath of their decapitation, a concert, the end of the world and, somehow, find their way back to each other.

"Was I good, Louis? Was I good for you?"
Louis laughed lowly, the vibrations of it making Lestat shudder. “You used to ask that every time, Lestat. And I always gave you the same answer.”
Lestat shrugged, smiling. “Who knows? It might change.”
“It can never not be good with you,” Louis mumbled.
Those words almost made Lestat start crying again. A lick of pride, but a stronger feeling of usefulness. He was good at this and had always been good at this.
