That all consuming rush of adrenaline, excitement. The feeling of his limbs going numb for a moment. Luke's rough palms held his neck and cheeks and heart right in them without even trying once again. Without having to ask and without doing so at all.

Calum spends the entire show glancing back at Ashton behind his drum set, and for the most part it’s difficult to notice anything but pure concentration, but in the little parts in between where there’s a break from the drums in the songs, Calum sees it. He sees the deep breaths, his chest moving heavily with each inhale, sweat rolling down his forehead in waves and closing his eyes five seconds longer when he blinks it out of his eyes.
