Loki remembers the cold touch on his arm years ago. Watching his arm turn blue.
The soldier looks up, pained expression giving way to shock with a little bit of awe (not hatred, for once not hatred) lighting up his eyes. He has blue eyes. They are….pretty.
"It's fine," he says and although his voice is breathless, it is pleasant, "Doesn't even hurt anymore."
(It would be nice to think that he’d never think of the soldier again. That he had met him once and then all else would be forgotten.
He would be lying to himself. )Or Loki falls head over heels for a soldier. It comes with a lot more than he expected.

Summary
By the time Tony reaches him, Loki's skin is a battlefield: blue fading in and out in response to the fire and ice that's fighting for dominance inside Loki's body. Extremis inside a Frost Giant is a death sentence that Tony refuses to accept.
Tony shuts everyone out. No SHIELD, no Avengers, no help. Just him, a glass box keeping Loki's core temperature even, and a god quietly convinced this is exactly how his story was always going to end.
Tony has other plans.

“Why are you here?” he asks, and honestly Tony hates everything about this.
The forced conversational tone, the way Loki eyes him suspiciously like he’s just going to call the cavalry on him and be done with it, which is honestly what Tony should be doing right now. Six months ago Loki Odinson broke out of SHIELD custody at the price of two dead and five injured. Not to mention the property damage that of course Stark Industries covered in full. But something about Loki—maybe the soft pajamas, his messy hair, his bare feet on the cold floor, or the limp he’s trying to hide as he crosses the kitchen to get himself a glass of wine—makes Tony want to figure this out on his own first.

‘’Can’t say for sure if it’s a mutual sentiment on my part,’’ Tony blurted out on a voice hindered by the prolonged lack of air. ‘’-But hell, are you out for a bit of sightseeing as well?’’
