    There’s a hand on his shoulder, and that’s all he needs to shake himself awake.

    It’s pitch black. There is hardly a difference when he blinks, and it leaves him dizzy. Once he rolls over, though, the familiar shape and glow of two pure white eyes helps him orient himself in the darkness.

    “Dagger?” Bad prompts in a rasping whisper.

    Dagger grunts something just to let Bad know that he heard him, then swallows around the dryness in his throat. His neck is sore. His stomach feels hollow. He breathes deep and muffles a yawn with the back of his hand. “Yeah… M’up.”

    Bad pats his shoulder. “Alright. Five minutes.” And then the pure white of Bad's eyes retreat into the dark.
