He blinked out of his daze, “Yeah?”

Sharing the fruit causes an actual bond they can feel, story travels across all the games
---
Riku cannot breathe. It was one thing to watch Sora and to engage him in a brief battle to test his capabilities before leaving him to the mercy of those heartless, but it is quite another to be stood before him when Sora is reaching a hand out to reach for him. His eyes, so bright and so blue, gaze across the distance between them with such hope that Riku wants to give in and open his arms to the boy he loves. For a brief moment, whilst his heart is hammering in his chest as he looks at Sora, Riku drops his guard.
The tether flares to life, a thick twisted rope of gold that tugs, and Sora gasps into the silent atmosphere of the mountain. It wraps around his heart, warm and yellow and contented in that way it only can when he is around the other half. It hones in on the man before him, and Sora scrambles forward. Riku hesitates briefly, before his keyblade disappears and he darts down the path along the side of the mountain.

Summary
"His eyes couldn't lie," the King had said, once. Green, orange, yellow, purple, and pink - what did these eye colors mean? Sora couldn't help but fall entranced in Riku's gaze, no matter what color his eyes were.

Pink , Sora thought, pink? His heart rate picked up like a hummingbird’s. “They changed again,” Sora breathed out, helplessly. Riku broke their eye contact, eyes flitting to the side as his cheeks tried to copy the color in his eyes. Sora automatically leaned in, wanting to drink in that beautiful color closer. They changed when I told him I kept his blindfold, Sora realized in wonder; it was the only possible trigger.
The ocean breeze picked up and blew through Sora like the swell in his heart. If he breathed, he thought he’d choke on the hope, the joy, but he couldn’t hold it back. “Look at me?” he asked.
Riku listened, but slow and uncharacteristically shy – like he was caught. And he waited, like a knight waits for his king’s word, his verdict. Sora couldn’t stop his smile. “I think… I know what this color means,” he said, but it didn’t seem like Riku even heard what he said. The universe in Riku’s eyes stared directly at Sora like – like Sora was the universe.
Sora always wanted to give Riku the world.
Without a second thought, without even a blink or another breath, Sora dove in and captured Riku’s lips with every unspoken word he had. There were so many, he was overflowing. He latched onto Riku like a single kiss could recount a lifetime of love, balling the front of Riku’s shirt in his hands. He didn't even close his eyes — didn't want to close his eyes — so he could witness every moment and discover brilliant new shades of pink.

Summary
It had been a week since the end of the Keyblade War. A week since Riku and Sora had returned to the Mysterious Tower, and Yen Sid told them to rest up for a few days. As if a few nights of sleep would erase all the heartache, the sacrifices, the self-doubt, the holes in his memory that he could still feel somehow, the bruises that went deeper than just skin. The chill that had settled into Riku’s bones and wouldn’t leave and had become the perfect contrast with Sora's hot tears against his neck as Sora clung to him in the middle of the night. Hot and cold undulating within him in waves.Or: A post-KHIII fix-it fic where Riku and Sora buy a fixer-upper home on the Destiny Islands after the Keyblade War and together learn to cope with everything they've been through.

😭 god the softness between them. And the electricity??? So much longing packed into one fic. The definition of HURT/comfort, but the tolerable (to me) variety
Too many good quotes to pick from

“I was talking about you.”
“Oh,” Sora said, and he scrambled to sit up straighter, making the rocking chair lurch forward and backwards wildly.
“I love you, Sora,” Riku said, and he surprised himself by how easy it was to get the words out here, safe here in their little bubble.
Sora stared at Riku, eyes wide with shock. He blinked rapidly for long seconds, but then he smiled — no, he beamed — at Riku, and it was the best thing Riku had seen in forever.
And suddenly, Riku’s chest flooded with that familiar warmth, and his mouth fell open. Sora brought a hand to cover Riku’s heart in a gesture that was so intimate, and the connection between them surged and fluttered, like the butterflies in his stomach, and instinctively Riku dove down the link. It was like rushing down a slide, his mind and gaze set on the goal, a goal so bright, the light inside of Sora more radiant than the brightest star out there.
He tugged and Sora shifted again, one leg thrown across Riku’s as he crawled into Riku’s lap and made the chair rock a little again. He pressed closer and buried his face in Riku’s neck, his arms wrapped tightly around Riku’s shoulders.
Riku didn’t know what any of this meant, he had no script for this. He was just acting on what his heart told him to do when he wrapped his arms Sora's waist and pulled him closer still until every inch of their bodies was pressed together.
There was more to say, he had more to ask, but it could wait. His heart hadn’t felt so light in weeks, months, years, and Sora was here, Sora was smiling and hugging him, and their link was restored, he felt it deep inside him, so nothing else mattered, really. Sora was trembling, so Riku stroked soothing circles across his back until Sora relaxed, and his breathing evened out as he fell asleep against Riku.
