God, is this it? Is it happening now? Are they doing this right now? On the cardboard bed in Block 905 of the Olympic Village? Will he finally be fiancé of Iwaizumi Hajime (27) Athletic Trainer of the Japanese national volleyball team on the eleventh day of the Tokyo Olympics?
“I’m saying—I love you so much Tooru, I—”
The doorbell interrupts him mid-sentence and Oikawa whips his head in the direction of the offending sound.
Someone should tell Oikawa that this is only the first of a series of unfortunate events.

Summary
Somewhere between bold brushstrokes and playful bickering, Tooru glances at Hajime and realizes that, perhaps, love lives in eternity after all. There has never been, not for a single second, a moment in which he hasn’t been utterly, devastatingly in love with his best friend.
Alternatively: It’s summer in the 90s and Tooru spends it with Hajime in a town away from home. Together, they go on bike rides, swim in the river, talk under the stars, and finally open their hearts to each other.
