"I, olo'eyktan of the Mangkwan, am named Jake Sully. I am the son of Varang Te Marey Sa'Ti'ite and human General Frederic Sully, and brother of the late Tommy Sully. With the gifts conceived by fire, and to him alone, I spill my blood upon the one I proclaim my mate."
The blade tore through his palm. Tsu'Tey swallowed hard.
"I proclaim the warrior Tsu'Tey Te Rongloa Atey'itan to be mine."
Jake dipped his index finger into the pool of blood that had accumulated in his left palm.
"And I will be his." He stuck his finger in the omatikaya's mouth. The metallic taste filled him again. "Tsu'Tey will give me nothing but pure, raw pleasure," he finished in a slow whisper.
or: Tsu'Tey is claimed by the olo'eyktan of the ash clan.

"Son," Jake tried again, his voice a whisper as he ignored the jeering of Quaritch beside him and the frenzy of the Mangkwan. The only thing that mattered to him was his son. "Please, you have to remember. It's me, Jake, your dad. And those are your brother's, Lo'ak and Spider, and your sisters, Kiri and Tuk."
Neteyam's hand momentarily stilled, putting a stop to the sacrificial markings he had been painting across Jake's skin. The conflict on his face was impossible to hide, physically paining Jake when he couldn't reach out to embrace his son and tell him that everything would be okay.
"I don't--"
"Bro," Lo'ak cut him off, pleading as he fought against his restraints. "We have to get out of here, it's not safe. We can explain everything to you once we get back."
"No," he quickly hissed, shooting down anyone else who dared to speak against him. Before handing off the wooden bowl of paint and storming away, Neteyam seethed, "I am the son of Varang, and my place is with the Mangkwan. I don't know who any of you are."
or... Neteyam couldn't remember anything except his name and the voices of his past. Luckily, he had Varang and the Mangkwan to guide him through it.

Summary
Kim Hongjoong, Doyen of the famous Ateez coven who led the revolution for vampire and feral fledgling rights, has only one regret: breaking his coven bond and leaving his fledgling to be taken two hundred years ago. For one hundred, he believed his fledgling was gone for good. Believed he had died, afraid and in so much pain, at the hands of Hongjoong's birth coven, an act of revenge from Hongjoong's own sire all because of his foolishness and naivety. So why was he in front of him now? Furious, betrayed, spewing hatred and promises of death, but alive? Why is he willing to risk his new coven by protecting his fledgling who wants nothing more than to destroy them?
He's alive and that's all Hongjoong cared about. As long as Mingi was alive, he'd stop at nothing to protect him, would do anything just to bring back his kind, endearingly clumsy, scaredy-cat of a fledgling. Even if Mingi never forgives him for his failings, Hongjoong would protect him this time, wouldn't let anything or anyone hurt him ever again. As long as Mingi was alive and by his side, where he could keep him safe, everything would be okay. He just had to find a way for Mingi to feel safe and protected too.
