Second to sickness, starvation was the most common cause of death, and everyone feared it - some people even feared death so much they died from anxiousness. The citizens of the noob layer lived by their god and died by their god, you could never test fate on the layer; dying without making yourself useful put a mark on your soul and tainted your afterlife.
