Sukuna didn’t seem bothered by the look. “You can be very self-righteous, you know.”
Megumi looked back at him, pinning him with a glare. “Who said anything about righteousness? I’ll be the last to call myself that.”
“You have a very self-righteous way of showing it, Megumi,” Sukuna drawled. He leaned towards him, arm resting on the edge of the table as he bent close. “You find righteousness in your acknowledgement of your own selfishness. Your real strength will come from embracing the ways in which you’re a worse kind of person than everyone else. Knowing oneself isn’t what makes you better.”
Megumi kept his gaze, though a part of him wanted to lean away. Sukuna had an undeniably powerful presence, but Megumi refused to buckle. “So what makes you better then?”
Sukuna leaned in a little closer, the corners of his lips turned up in such a way that left Megumi wondering how someone like him could have such a sweet smile. Megumi always found himself pondering how the innocence of it always made Sukuna scarier. “Everything.”
