He liked being needed. Liked knowing that Nagi functioned better with him than without. Liked that Nagi leaned on him so instinctively, so completely. There was a secret, ugly thrill in the thought that without Reo, Nagi would flounder. Miss trainings. Forget meals. Waste away.
Useless.
The word slid into his mind unbidden, heavy and intoxicating.
Reo swallowed hard.
That’s awful, he thought immediately. You're fucking awful, Reo.
What kind of person wants someone they love to be helpless?
What kind of person wants to be the center of someone else’s world so badly they’d clip their wings for it?
The answer came too easily.

Reo attempts to free Nagi from his orbit; Nagi refuses to exist outside of it.
