Summary
Carl Grimes survived two bullet wounds. The third time, he was luckier. He stirred from the warm nothingness, sleepily blinking open two whole eyes.
In coming face to face with his mother, in a camp he never thought he'd see again, he realized that he must have been in an in-between place, trapped in the minutes before and after death. His mom would wake any minute and explain to him that she was an angel, or perhaps some other psychopomp–a word he learned from Enid while flipping through a few scavenged Sandman issues–and then she would take his hand and guide him to the afterlife.

He’s so angry. He’s never been so angry with another person in his entire life, and despite it, he doesn’t care, because it’s Naim. It’s Naim, and he’s perfect, and that fucking thing is still wearing his face, so that really says it all.

*__*__*
OR, when Jean brings Peter back, it knocks the spell loose in the minds of his loved ones, prompting a reunion and the discovery of multiple secrets Peter would rather be kept to himself.

He closes his eyes. Slides his own hand up to his cheek, around slowly to the back of his neck. Gentle. If he moves all of his rings to his left hand, he can almost pretend that it’s Naim’s palm against the carotid instead.
After, Ryan seeks him out like a bad dog.

Summary
Naim was dying. He knew he was. And even in his final moments, he couldn't find it in himself to pray to God for help. He knew He wouldn't help. No one would help.
----
Naim opened his eyes to the bare beige of his room's ceiling. It takes a second for his eyes to adjust to the darkness, he hadn’t slept in the dark since everything with Not-Ryan, and scrambled backwards on his bed.Or: Time Travel fix-it au because there isn't nearly enough fanfics for this movie and i want a time travel fic. If you can't read it, write it!
