or: Avery forgets and remembers through the video that comes out (like in lore). he finds Derek and since Derek hasn't really paid his rent his ass gets kicked out so Avery moves derek in with him, unaware of what Derek is going through. Fun!
derek himself is now a piece of the King in yellow, because technically, he is a vessel now. however, derek's corrupted mind has given this specific piece a personality. (Basically Derek both lives with the king in his head but is also the king. You picking up what in putting down? okay)
