Summary
After finishing her studies at Vassar College, Andrea Sachs returns to New York City with ambitious plans for career in literary publishing - and very little interest in finding a husband. Despite her protests, she finds herself back in the throes of her parents' upper society lives, where her mother has asked the city's social arbiter, Miranda Priestly, to play the part of an unofficial matchmaker.
