Sonic knows Shadow would never smile at him, Shadow would never show mercy, Shadow would never extend his hand to him- but then he says, “I am Enkidu.” -and realization crashes down on Sonic.
“Right,” he says. Because he’s a storybook doppelgänger and not actually Shadow. Get it through your head, Sonic. “I’m Sonic,” he says. And maybe it’s just that he’s loopy from shock or whatever, but the next thing he says is, “Let’s be friends, alright?”
