Crowley squeezed his hands together, hard. He watched his knuckles turn white.
“What do you want?” he asked.
He waited for a moment, and then two, but Aziraphale didn’t reply.
When Crowley looked up, he was alone in the flat. He didn’t know what else he had expected.

“Do you remember the ox rib?”
Aziraphale straightened. There had been many ox ribs over the years, but Crowley was referring to a very specific one. From the look on Aziraphale’s face, he knew exactly what was on Crowley’s mind.
“Of course,” Aziraphale breathed. He sounded like he was praying. “It was the first thing I’d ever eaten.”
“I gave you that.” Crowley was too inebriated– hell, too exhausted from playing the long game to keep the possessiveness out of his voice. “You were hungry, and I fed you. You felt good."
“I did,” Aziraphale all but whispered. “I do.”

Crowley takes Aziraphale out to dinner. Crowley doesn't eat any food. Interesting, that: an indulgent angel, and a demon who can't stop denying himself what he wants.

The book opened and shut, quickly, viciously, like it was gnashing its teeth.
“Oh my god.” Dipper’s voice went up at least a full octave. “Oh my god ohmygoditsaghostbook-"
The growling softened. The book stopped shaking.
Dipper lay sprawled on the ground, panting. When he pushed himself up onto his knees, the book didn’t make any more sudden movements. Maybe he’d actually get to read it?
Dipper started to grin, but then he hesitated. Every instinct he had was screaming at him that he was about to be some huge animal’s lunch. He glanced behind him, but didn’t see anyone. Who was watching him?
His gaze slowly moved back to the book.
The book didn’t have eyes, of course, but Dipper couldn’t stave off the feeling that he was being watched. Judged.
A rational person would have turned around and run away. Dipper reached out.
