Summary
The summer of 1814 begins with Jimin's father falling terribly ill. Jimin realises he must marry before his father dies if he wishes to keep his mother and him in the manner to which they are accustomed. He sets his sights upon the wealthy Lord Seokjin Kim, much to the disgust of a certain Captain Jeon.
Many years prior, Jimin had danced all night at the village ball with Mr Jungkook Jeon, before breaking off all attachment upon learning that the alpha was a mere farmer's son. Freshly returned from the Navy, Captain Jeon is now a wealthy man, best friends with Lord Kim, and strongly disapproving of Jimin's desperate attempts to marry for wealth and status.
But when Jimin's attempts to marry fail, he finds that Captain Jeon does not hate him quite as much as he once thought.
