Summary
Odysseus was a man that felt like he denied himself very little. Melinoë was a Goddess that denied herself everything. Perhaps, through a lot of work on both of their parts, they could learn to meet somewhere in the middle.

Summary
Charlie had never been particularly good at knowing what to say in moments like this. There were questions he could ask, certainly, but he suspected none of them would be useful. He had the distinct impression that Carlisle was not ready to put the day's events into words.
Charlie let out a quiet breath, then placed a hand on the man's shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.
He didn't comment on the way the shoulder tensed beneath his hand.
He didn't comment on the way Carlisle eventually leaned into him, his shoulder slotting quietly against Charlie's side.
He didn’t comment on the way he wanted to pull him closer.

Summary
This is how it always is—business talk sugarcoated in flirtation, or flirtation buried under years of knowing exactly how the other one works. If he weren’t who he is, and if you weren’t so damn good at ignoring how often he looks at your mouth when you talk, it might’ve gone somewhere dangerous already.
Instead, it lives in the margins. Like the ones he doodles spiral towers into. Like the ones in the secret planner buried in the very bottom drawer of you desk where you write down things like:
Remind Harry to eat something before 3.
Book flights for Hong Kong.
Don’t fall in love with your boss.
That last one’s underlined. Twice.

Summary
The word “home” means nothing to you. You try to imagine what your apartment looks like. Empty bottles and overturned trash cans? Wallpaper made out of porn magazines? Your very own disco ball? The keys you found in your suitcase are a nondescript silver and tell you nothing about the rooms they unlock.
Through the window, you catch a glimpse of your blood-red graffito: SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

Summary
The gist of it was this: infiltrate La Puta Madre, get key names, dates and locations, and get out. As if this was an easy task, and not something the RCM had been struggling to achieve successfully for decades.
The Moralintern’s present, Benjamin Setsuna, was a recent addition to the Madre, previously not physically present within the Jamrock locale. La Madre knew a name, that he was Seolite, his necessary business dealings, but had never actually seen the man.
Kim resented that this task had fallen to him, as the precinct’s only high ranking Seolite officer. He had accepted the task, mask carefully in place, but he felt Harry shift angrily next to him at their secondary briefing.
