The first time he sees Kise, his whole body feels hot like a lightening flash. It’s the same way he feels when he’s facing someone amazing on the court, and everything in him screams don’t let him go, and then suddenly the basketball that was in his hand is bouncing off the back of a ridiculously shiny blond head. Wari wari, he apologizes, unable not to grin when he gets to look at that face a little more, even if it does look supremely annoyed, and he’s so bewildered by himself that he does the only thing he knows he won’t fuck up and goes back to playing. When he notices him watching, he thinks, gotcha, and feels warm in a whole new way when Kise’s face expresses the same awe and intrigue Daiki had felt when he first saw Kise cutting across campus.
