    Naturally, he clicks on the profile picture without hesitation, only to feel a pit open up in his stomach—a sensation so ambiguous that Chan can’t quite tell if it’s excitement or dread. It’s a studio, bathed in an intense red glow, filled with equipment Chan doesn’t recognise, and a solitary microphone peeks out from the side, silver and black.

    It’s 30 minutes long. He presses the play button.

    “Hello.”
