Summary
Kakashi Hatake is the FBI’s top profiler—and its most expensive liability. A man who stares into the abyss and sometimes doesn’t blink back. Yamato is assigned as his partner, handler, babysitter, whatever the Bureau wants to call it.
His job is simple: keep Kakashi from going under.
It’s not simple.
It’s motel rooms soaked in rain and cigarette smoke. It’s field reports and bruised knuckles and the kind of sex that says more than either of them know how to. It’s a slow, brutal unraveling—of cases, of killers, of themselves.
Kakashi uses strangers to forget how much he feels. Yamato doesn’t know how to stop caring. Eventually, the only place left to hide is each other.
