Cressida remained silent. She did wonder how things would be. Papa would be back home, along with his business partners and their never ending lines of sons she “really must meet”. She’d have to go back too, say goodbye to Mrs. Bridgerton and the farm, say goodbye to Eloise and the futures she’d written down in her journal.
Creloise but its 1940s England and Cressida has been conscripted to work on the Bridgerton farm.

As a child, Eloise always insisted on playing the man in their little scenarios. Daphne always wanted to be a princess, Francesca a warrior, and Eloise an explorer. She'd wear the costumes her brothers grew out of, little military uniforms and adventuring gear, using her father's old spyglass, trampling through underbrush while Daphne cried after her not to ruin her hair. She always ruined her hair.
