Hobbits were created from earth and plant. They were the children of Aule and Yavanna, made in celebration of their bonding. They knew the earthen tongue. Plant and earth come to their aid.
What would the journey to Erebor be like with a female Bilbo who knew a little about surviving?

Basically me combining my desire to make Hobbits their own race (which means they get a gift of their own from Eru since all of his children get something cool), having a female Bilbo while making what happens sort of realistic as Gandalf is apparently known to take a lad or Lass of into the blue for an adventure, and making hobbits actually have a culture the reflects their past nomadic life.

Summary
A little more than kith, a little less than kind.
If there's one thing that Thorin and Bree know how to do, it's argue. Two cats can't share the same tree, as Old Took used to say, and indeed a wise soul might observe that they'd likely get a long a good sight better if they weren't so very much alike. (And in particular, if they weren't both so terribly accustomed to getting their own way!) An even wiser soul might further note that no one quarrels that much save for the joy of it, and anyway who better to take the hard edge of the king's temper than the equally sharp-tongued burglar?
The wisest souls, of course, are the ones who know not to breathe a bloody word of this out loud, because then one of them might hear you.

For one thing, there's considerably more shouting.

Summary
In the Shire there were two truths. The Tooks were odd and the Baggins were respectable. The Baggins family dealt in contracts and favours, and while the Shire knew that the Tooks were odd, it was the Baggins family that had other blood running through their veins.
Bilbo Baggins did not go running out his door for want of an adventure, he went running out his door because of a terribly worded contract and a laughable quest that somehow held the spark of other.
In this story, it is not the Tooks that held fae blood in their family tree, it is the Baggins, and theirs is so much closer to the surface.
