Summary
Dr. Jensen Ackles was a brilliant mathematics professor and proud of his self-identified superpowers: He could detect unknown truths and ferret out deception in others.
In other words, he knew when people were lying.
This made him a valued resource to the FBI when they needed help cracking difficult cases. Jensen was glad to help, as long as they realized his superpowers came with a caveat.
Special Agent Jared Padalecki was a respected agent and gifted FBI profiler, currently leading a team tracking a serial killer. When his boss, SAC Jeff Morgan, decided to call upon an odd mathematician for help, Jared was skeptical as to how a college professor could be of any assistance. However, the agent soon became intrigued by the mathematician, and learned to value Jensen for his instincts, insights, and superpowers.

Jared has moved in with Jensen leaving his leadership position, his former FBI team, and his best friend, Jeff Morgan, behind. He knows living with Jensen will present challenges, but Jared feels he is up to the challenge because his superhero boyfriend, with all his quirks and idiosyncrasies, is worth it.Jensen knows he can be difficult to live with and will always choose his own comfort over Jared's—and everybody else's. However, he is determined to try his best to keep Jared at least moderately happy. But there's only so much his autism will allow him to accommodate.
This is the next phase of their journey together as a couple, and as part of a brand-new FBI team.
