18 months after the war, Hogwarts reopens. Hermione returns. Draco does too: thinner, bitter, done with blood purity, and speaking to Snape’s portrait after midnight. Hermione listens. Snape knows.
Their inquiry asks whether the dead can testify through portraits. Hermione sees magic no one understands; Draco sees one chance to free Blaise from Azkaban. Between midnight research, Theo’s interference and Draco’s disastrous jealousy, they fall in love.
They leave Hogwarts without each other. Five years later, Draco has one argument left:
“I don’t want to go back, Hermione. I want to arrive late to your life and spend the rest of mine earning the right to stay.”

Summary
Hermione's world starts to collapse around her when the Marriage Law pairs her with respected Auror Draco Malfoy. They absolutely cannot get along, not enough to try and start a mandated family, that's for sure.

Summary
When a ministry law mandates all former Death Eaters receive muggleborn spouses to rejuvenate the old bloodlines, Hermione snags Draco Malfoy’s marriage contract so she can have pure, unfettered access to the Malfoy library, the largest private collection of magical texts in Britain. It’s only logical, of course. It takes her a few months to realize that there might be something to the man that came with her new collection of books.
Draco’s new wife is the most infuriating, swottish, oblivious woman he’s ever had to deal with, and Draco would be considerably less angry about falling in love with her if she would notice his existence for longer than five minutes.
