Summary
The mattress dips as the alpha rolls onto his back, taking Shane with him. He manoeuvres him like he weighs nothing, until Shane is sprawled half-across his chest. The city lights paint stripes across Ilya's face through the half-open blinds, catching the mole on his cheek and the earnest look in his eyes. His thumb traces absent circles over Shane's lower back.
“You can stay,” he says, quieter this time. Like it's simple. Like Shane hasn't spent the last five years of his life sleeping alone.
Shane Hollander was nineteen when he finally presented. Twenty-one when he got diagnosed with IOED, a rare condition that shows itself with delayed secondary omega traits and absent heats. In other words: infertility.
After his boyfriend breaks up with him for this very reason, Shane has to come to terms with the fact that he’ll probably be alone forever. What alpha in his right mind could possibly want a defective omega?
That’s where Ilya Rozanov comes in, proving him wrong at every turn, because loving Shane appears to be the easiest thing he’s ever done.

Ilya’s grin falters for half a second, just long enough for Shane to see the flicker of surprise on his face, before a spark of excitement flashes in his eyes. He tilts his head, gaze dragging over Shane like he’s checking for tells.
“You are joking.”
“What’s the matter? Worried you’ll lose?”
The dare lingers, sticky-sweet, and Shane realizes — too late — he might have just stepped into a trap of his own making. Then Ilya downs the rest of his drink in one swallow, and slams the glass down.
“Deal.”

Summary
A lone tear finally escapes Seonghwa's eye, rolling down his cheek. It looks very cinematic. Almost fake. But Hongjoong knows better. He sees him. The ghost of that lonely boy who once felt the world’s sharp edges too keenly.
“I know what it’s like… To feel utterly misplaced.”
Hongjoong reaches out, tentative, his fingers brushing the back of Seonghwa’s hand where it rests on the scratchy wool blanket. The contact is electric, somehow exhilarating in its simplicity. Seonghwa doesn’t pull away. Instead, he turns his palm upward, interlacing their fingers.
After a difficult break-up, Hongjoong is forced to confront his fears and start over. What he doesn’t know, is that the new building he just moved into is entirely comprised of supernatural beings, some who might even try to eat him.
Luckily for him, his neighbour Seonghwa is not about to let that happen.

No serious hockey fan or sports commentator worth their salt would have considered record-breaking Boston superstar Ilya Rozanov to be Shane Hollander’s rival exactly, but sleeping with a man who had a specific offense-related vendetta against him and a wrist shot like a jet engine to back it up was probably ill-advised just the same.
Or, Shane is a goalie. Ilya can’t score.

Summary
Scent patches were mandatory for anyone participating in World Junior's, but a lot of the Russian guys Shane saw in the hotel or around the rink had them loosely attached to their necks or not quite centered over their scent gland. Shane had been on his way to his parents' car when the wind shifted, and he smelled that Rozanov, leaning against the wall and not-at-all-surreptitiously fishing a carton of cigarettes out of his pocket, must have been one of them.

Shrugging one shoulder far more casually than he possibly feels, Ilya says, “I like both. Is secret, okay?”
“Okay,” Hollander says, voice cracking.
He doesn’t say anything else. The air’s so heavy around them that it feels like being in the middle of a scrum, the weight and heat of all those bodies pressing down on you. Danger always feels like hockey; it’s the most dangerous thing Ilya knows, except for this. Everything dangerous in his life involves men’s bodies and just how close he can get to them. Closer than he probably should.
A year after mysteriously dropping out of the 2009 draft, Shane Hollander is signed by the Boston Raiders, right behind Ilya Rozanov. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston — but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Especially not when staying away from each other starts to feel just as impossible as getting along.
