Summary
About five years ago, Dr. Ryland Grace was traveling through space. He and an alien named Rocky were on their way to Erid, Rocky’s home planet, after saving both of their planets from the astrophage crisis. On the way there, they had come across a submarine stranded among the endless sea of stars. It was filled to the brim with gore, and submerged in the thick liquid was a man who shouldn’t have been alive. But he was, because Grace wouldn’t have been able to live with himself if the only other human for lightyears died in his arms. Grace didn’t want to be alone. He retrieved the man and left the sub stranded, the only thing left of it being the nearly dead human in his arms and the several samples he couldn’t help but take.
Years later, those samples Grace had taken from Simon’s submarine were sitting in quarantine in the lab built for Grace outside the bio-dome.
