Summary
Changsheng shifted, drawing tight around his throat. The bells were still ringing, audible even with the windows closed tight. The fatui ships in the bay had thrown the Harbor into a strange mood, excitement and apprehension bubbling up from the stone in equal measure. The answer fell upon him then, suddenly, like a shower of icy rain.
Another Harbinger had come to Liyue Harbor.
The race for immortality begins, from Liyue to Sumeru. Baizhu is left with little choice-- he must win.

Summary
Boothill tips his head back against the fence post. His hat is … somewhere. Probably still in the IPC mining compound, right there with half his right hand and a couple pints of oil and cooling fluid. His next sigh is wet, speaks to something he can’t fix out here in the sticks. At least it’s pretty, fireflies rising like sparks over the ridge.
There’s a wolf at the edge of the trees, silhouetted against the bleeding sky. The dusky light catches on its eyes, dark with a hunger that has Boothill reaching for his gun with the arm that still works.

They end up kneeling in the shallow water. Maglor’s forehead rests on the plane of Earendil’s sternum. One hand is clenched in the loose linen of his shirt, the other braced on his bicep, fingers pressing bruises into the meat of Earendil’s shoulder.
“You are better than this,” he says, calling forth the low tone he used to soothe away nightmares when his sons were small.

“We made it,” Welt says, and then, “I have to-"
“Recreate the Star of Eden?” Void says. He leans forward.
Welt blinks. This close, Void’s eyes gleam golden with thin lines of circuitry and his body is warm against Welt’s flank, inhumanly so. The joints of his fingers pop as he shifts his weight, bending lower until his fringe brushes Welt’s face.
“Don’t tell me you’ve already forgotten our deal.”
“I haven’t forgotten,” says Welt. “There’s someone I have to find first.”

Summary
He wakes to screaming.
It takes him a handful of seconds to realize it's him, his voice, and that he can't stop.
He doesn't know where he is. Blood bubbles in his throat, spills out of his mouth and it burns. It's frothy, tinged gold, and leaves lines of irritation where it drips down his chin and throat. Fan-shaped leaves swirl across his vision and everything dissolves into a golden haze.

The news reaches Seth in the form of a half burnt letter, stained with dried gore. He runs his fingers over the smudged ink and thanks the bird that delivered it with a scrap of meat from his satchel. The author’s signature is nearly illegible, but he can make out the half-charred griffon emblem on the lower right corner."

Summary
All Max wanted to do was pass his classes with half decent grades, work enough hours to keep his apartment, and maybe get that internship. Ending up in Thedas trying not to die via demon or angry Seeker was not an expected (or welcome) alternative.
My take on the Modern Character in Thedas trope, also known as 'what if the main character was actually useless.'
