A sudden noise from above the ditch startles me.
“What was that?” Henry asks, his voice trembling. I don’t respond. I reached towards my pocket slowly and felt the outline of my pistol. The noise got louder, a deep growl that seemed to emanate from all around. A huge gust of wind blew forth from above, leaves twirling in the chaos. The thick trees blocked out most of the sunlight, leaving us in a constantly shifting eerie darkness.
Then I saw it.
The hound.

Set during the episode 4 fuck montage, Shane grapples with feeling shame about some of his sexual desires (he doesn’t have the vocabulary to describe sub space, pain kink or oral fixation, which he might as well have invented (to him)) and Ilya is able to make him feel better about it.

“What the fuck, Ilya? What is that supposed to mean?” Shane said, his own voice cracking around the words.
Ilya laughed quietly, pinching the bridge of his nose as he sniffled, looking back at Shane.
“You stood in front of everyone tonight and talked about choosing someone every day. You talked about Hayden, you talked about Jackie, you talked about how obvious they are. How they don’t have to pretend.”
Shane didn’t answer. His heart hammered in his chest with each word that left Ilya’s mouth as he watched while his face went pale.
“You know what I was doing while you were giving that speech?” Ilya asked.
The room stayed silent.
“I was wondering if anyone else in that room would've believed you were talking about us.”
OR: Shane and Ilya go to Paris to celebrate Hayden and Jackie’s vow renewals. When Ilya hears Shane give his speech, he starts to focus on the fact that they can’t have this. He can’t express his love for Shane in front of everyone the way everyone else can. Now Ilya has no idea what he’s supposed to do with this, and Shane’s starting to notice.

It's when Ilya’s hand slides up Shane’s chest and to his throat that Shane starts to stiffen. It's a second, just a pure second, that Ilya’s hand is on Shane’s neck before it travels over to his arm and wrist. But Ilya sees it. The darkening of Shane’s eyes. The sound of his breath hitching and the way his body melts into Ilya’s.
