The music continues to grow in confidence and Vi follows the sound to their den where warm hues of morning light floods in. The heat in Vi’s ribcage blooms at the sight of her wife sitting gracefully in front of her piano, wearing nothing but one of Vi’s old button-ups, the front of which is undone and open. Caitlyn’s fingers dance expertly across the keys in a way that is precise but not rehearsed, practiced yet fluid. As she plays, Vi’s shirt slips slowly from her shoulders, but Caitlyn doesn’t pause to shift it back into place.
