Summary
Charles Leclerc has spent centuries finding Max Verstappen only to lose him over and over again.
When Daniel Ricciardo unknowingly leads him to the latest incarnation of the man he has loved across countless lifetimes, Charles does what he has always done: he follows. This time, however, Max has no memory of him. He has a career, a complicated relationship, and an entire life that exists without Charles in it.
So Charles enters Formula 1.
What begins as an attempt to remain close to Max slowly turns into something darker. Old memories begin to surface in Max’s dreams. Charles becomes increasingly protective, possessive, and unwilling to accept that loving someone does not mean owning every version of them. Meanwhile, Oscar and Liam start asking uncomfortable questions about Ferrari’s mysterious new prodigy—questions that lead them far beyond anything they expected to find.
Charles has waited lifetimes for Max to choose him again.

“No, I am sure it is him,” the first man insists, the grip around Max’s shoulder tightening painfully as he is heaved forward and onto his knees. “I have seen him before.”
Max’s whole body slumps in, his eyes falling shut. They refuse to open again, every breath a strain on his lungs.
There is a hand seizing him by the back of the hated steel collar around his neck, ripping on it so his head is tilted upwards, calloused fingers gripping his chin. The small pain the rough treatment causes was nothing compared to the one in the rest of his body, Max barely feels it.
“It is him. Max Emilian Verstappen.”

While Charles is a social butterfly, Max doesn't have much friends and is looked down upon because he's not 'normal.’ But eventually, Charles and Max become friends. One day, Max stops showing up, and Charles moves on. He's grown up into Formula 1's youngest driver for Ferrari and he's got his life set up for success. Then, he sees Max again at a bakery shop.

Max Verstappen spent his entire life hearing that he would be an alpha.
Alphas win. Alphas handle pressure. Alphas don’t need to ask permission to exist.
Omegas, on the other hand, are treated like risks — bodies too unstable for a sport built on absolute control. And in Formula 1, control is everything.So Max learns early on to hide anything that seems “wrong.” The need for closeness. The comfort he finds in his mother’s nests. The constant fear of being seen as weak. Because if the world already closed doors to someone as talented as his mother, there would be no space at all for him.
But secrets have an expiration date.
As the years pass, the championships pile up, Red Bull starts collapsing around him, and suppressants stop being just a career guarantee and become a matter of survival, Max realizes that maybe the hardest thing isn’t continuing to win.
Maybe it’s believing someone would stay if he stopped pretending.
