Five years after unceremoniously exiting the Yokohama Shatterdome and his famed career as a ranger, Dazai finds himself returning for reasons beyond even his understanding. Despite the discouraging reception of a revolting job offer he's already refused and a punch in the face from his former co-pilot, he somehow doesn’t leave again immediately but digs his heels in. As the tension rises, the kaiju attacks that have plagued the world for fourteen years persist, and it becomes more difficult to ignore everything kept out of sight and mind for the past five years, though, it's only a matter of time before something—or someone—gives.
