After a while, he did not mind the gnawing feelings he would sometimes get from remembering their past and the choices he had to make for them. Coriolanus had one day realized in the quiet moment on the Meadow with Lucy Gray lying beside him that he no longer felt empathy for other people at all. It was too tiresome to think of all others when life had been less than fair to him and had taken more from him as time passed.
There were a handful of people he considered his care for and she was one of the few.

After confronting him in the woods about his lie, Lucy Gray is met with a choice. But Coriolanus could not imagine life in Panem without her, he had done too much for it to mean nothing. She had his heart and intended for her to keep it. The life she has with him is not what love should be like and she struggles to come to terms with it. Lucy Gray loves him, but the person he was becoming was not the one she had given everything for.
tl;dr: Lucy Gray chooses Coriolanus and goes to District Two and, to her dismay, to the Capitol. His love is overbearing and jealous, she loves him still. But pushing her to marry him— she wasn’t sure how to feel.
