A snapshot of what happens directly (and I mean DIRECTLY) after Greywaren, the last book in the Dreamer Trilogy. I loved the ending but it annoyed me that we didn't get to see Ronan get his ring from Adam, so here we go, a little hyperfixation treat for myself. Enjoy!- Language:

Adam Parrish was a lot of things, but he wasn’t dumb.
He knew that he was smart, clever, intelligent, and if he ever doubted that, he had several things which proved it. He had his finished papers with red A’s marked upon them, he had his acceptance letter from Aglionby and he had his friends, whose words and actions sometimes made it clear that he was the smartest one of the bunch. They agreed.---

Summary
It was now, finally, that Adam could see why the teachers at Aglionby gave Ronan the looks they gave him. He was fidgeting endlessly, not sitting still for more than a minute, glancing at Adam every time he turned a page, alternating between chewing on his leather bracelets, clicking his pen obnoxiously, scratching patterns into the cheap flooring with his fingernail, and doodling on his forearms. He sighed or yawned every thirty seconds, and seemed more fascinated with playing with the silver zippers on his leather jacket than with any of the work in front of him. To make matters worse, both of them had finished their coffees, which left Ronan jittery and unfocused, and Adam jittery and trying to focus but not being able to focus because of Ronan’s distractions.

Hypnotic: that's what he'd call it, as Adam ducked low, cupped cigarette butt, protecting flame out a gas station zip lighter Ronan had glared a cashier out for. Tie dye, a neon wreck, illuminated near caricature in twisting ribbons of red, green, pink. Flame in temporary flicker, licking about paper edge, sizzled and seared, glistened across Adam's lashes, translucent they were so light. Everything about him begged a golden hour downpour, candlelighting for translucent view.
